Ramos: Believes in his team

Under-fire Tottenham boss Juande Ramos insists has no issue with the club's board, but accepts the pressure is mounting on him to produce results.

The Spaniard has come in for heavy criticism of late, with Spurs rooted to the foot of the Premier League table and showing no signs of mounting a recovery.

The finger of blame at White Hart Lane has shifted on an almost daily basis, with former striker Dimitar Berbatov among those to be criticised.

Ramos admits he has spoken to club chairman Daniel Levy since the disappointing 2-0 defeat at Portsmouth on Sunday but is confident his position is not under threat just yet.

Relationship

"I speak to the chairman and all the people in the club," Ramos said.

"There is no problem. We are speaking clearly and the relationship is very good.

"At this moment we are not playing the best. The pressure is very high and we need to win two or three matches, then the mentality of the players will change.

"We need to change this situation but I'm convinced Tottenham is a big club in Europe. I'm sure, little by little, we will do it."

He added: "The matches we win and lose are because of all the people - the managers, the players, the club in general. It is not only one person, it is all the people at the club."

Disaster

Ramos' latest opportunity to get things right will come in a Uefa Cup first round, second leg clash with Wisla Krakow on Thursday.

With Tottenham taking a 2-1 lead with them to Poland, their boss accepts that elimination from the tournament is not an option.

"It would be a disaster for Tottenham to be knocked out of European competition," said Ramos.

"We want to win the Uefa Cup, but football is football.

"I don't think it would be an empty season for us if we are knocked out, however. We want win but we are also in the Premier League, the FA Cup and the Carling Cup."
