Hughes: Staying put

Skysports.com understands Mark Hughes is very happy at Manchester City and is not interested in leaving.

Reports on Friday linked Hughes with a shock move to Tottenham - even though Spurs have strenuously denied that there are any doubts over the future of their boss Juande Ramos.

Hughes was unsettled earlier this season when it looked as if he may have to sell some of his brightest stars as City's former owner Thaksin Shinawatra seemingly struggled to meet the financial backing he promised.

However, since then Abu Dhabi United Group have taken over at Eastlands and made them one of the most financially powerful clubs in world football.

Hughes has already stated his delight with his new Middle East bosses and a move away from the club looks like being the last thing on his mind.

"Mark is very happy at Manchester City," a source close to Hughes has told skysports.com.

"It is nonsense to suggest he is looking to move elsewhere. There have been no talks or contact with anyone at Tottenham."
