Fraizer Campbell believes Tottenham will soon rise from the slump in form that has seen them make their worst start to a season since 1912.

Under pressure coach Juande Ramos has seen his side pick up just two points from seven matches, with Sunday's home defeat to Hull only increasing the pressure on the Spanish tactician.

The result leaves Spurs rock bottom of the Premier League but Campbell, who moved to North London on a season-long loan from Manchester United prior to the closure of the transfer window, believes their current position is a false one.

The 21-year-old striker made his first Spurs start against Hull, who he helped to promotion from the Championship last season with 15 goals in 34 matches, and is determined to fire his new side up the table.

"When you look at the squad on paper it's very strong and we should be doing better," said Campbell.

"We're just not quite finding our form at the moment, but every team has a dip over the course of a season, hopefully this will be our only one of the campaign.

"This could have happened to us at the beginning, middle or end of the season but because it's come at the start it's been highlighted that much more since people see us at the foot of the table. I'm sure we'll turn things around very soon."

Rallying call

Campbell is well regarded at Old Trafford and even started the club's first game of the season against Newcastle, but found himself used as a makeweight in the deal that took Dimitar Berbatov from Spurs to United.

And having settled in the capital, Campbell is determined to win a regular starting place in Ramos' first XI.

"I've settled in quickly here. I'm getting to know the lads and they're getting to know me. I'm enjoying myself," he added.

"Obviously results could be better but that will come. I'm just waiting for a chance to show what I can do and make the most of any opportunities that come my way.

"The fans have been good to me so far, I try to add a spark when I play and I think they like that."
