Gareth Bale has hailed Harry Redknapp for reviving Tottenham's fortunes in his first week in charge.

Spurs were bottom of the Premier League table on just two points when Redknapp replaced Juande Ramos at White Hart Lane last weekend.

They claimed their first league win of the campaign against Bolton on Sunday and then came from behind to draw 4-4 with Arsenal in a thrilling North London derby on Wednesday.

Tottenham's fine run continued with a 2-1 victory over previously unbeaten Liverpool on Saturday and Bale has noticed a definite change of mood.

The Wales international believes Tottenham have been much more united and he credits Redknapp with the dramatic turn-around.

On the up

"We showed a great team spirit at Arsenal which has been lacking of late, and that resulted in our bad start of the season," Bale said in The People.

"But we have turned the corner and we are on the way up with the new manager."

Bale, who briefly worked with Redknapp during his time at Southampton, feels the experienced manager is one of the best in the business.

"I was a first-year scholar when Harry was at Southampton but I trained with him now and again," Bale recalled.

"He is a great manager - one of the best in the game. It was great that he came here and it's working well in the dressing room.

"I think Harry is the man to get us out of this mess we are in."
