Alan Hutton is expected to miss Tottenham's Uefa Cup clash against NEC Nijmegen as he awaits scan results on his injured foot.

The Scotland international is unlikely to travel with his team-mates to Holland for Thursday's Group D clash after undergoing a check-up on Monday.

Former Rangers full-back Hutton missed the start of the campaign with a foot injury but has been back in action for the past month and played the full game for his country in their 1-0 friendly defeat by Argentina.

The latest problem will now have to be assessed before Hutton learns how long he is facing on the sidelines.

Harry Redknapp will also be without cup-tied duo Vedran Corluka and Roman Pavlyuchenko, while playmaker Luka Modric is on the treatment table with a groin problem.

Skipper Ledley King is expected to be rested as Redknapp is keen to keep the centre-back available for Premier League action, so Michael Dawson is expected to partner Jonathan Woodgate in central defence.

Chris Gunter is in the frame to start at full-back as Spurs look to bounce back from their defeat by Udinese last time out.
