Jonathan Woodgate believes Tottenham can still achieve a top six finish this season despite their horrendous run of form under Juande Ramos.

Ramos was given his marching orders by White Hart Lane officials at the back end of October with the team four points adrift at the foot of the table after picking up just two points from eight matches.

Spurs have been one of the league's form sides following Harry Redknapp's arrival from Portsmouth and Woodgate believes they have the quality to push for a top six finish.

Woodgate and co are currently four points behind Uefa Cup hopefuls Everton and the ex-Leeds man thinks a win against David Moyes' men is vital on Sunday if they are to push up the table.

Top six

"I think we are only four points behind Everton, who are close to the top six," he told the Daily Star Sunday.

"So Sunday is a vital game. There are so many points up for grabs there and I'm sure we can push for a top-six place.

"But, first and foremost, we are at the bottom of the table and must win games.

"Every game you play is a fight. It's not easy. You have to roll up your sleeves, dig deep and fight, and really start playing, because we know we have quality in the dressing room."
