Tottenham have confirmed that Ricardo Rocha's contract will not be renewed.

Martin Jol brought the Portuguese defender to White Hart Lane in January 2007, signing him from Benfica for a fee of £3.3million.

He has since made 18 appearances for the London club but has never managed to establish himself as a regular starter.

And the 30-year-old has now been allowed to move on after being told he does not figure in Harry Redknapp's plans for next season.

Rocha spent five years with Benfica before joining Spurs and represented Portugal on six occasions.

He will now be hoping to resurrect his career and get more regular action at his next club.

Meanwhile, Tottenham have also released reserve team players Simon Dawkins, Kyle Fraser-Allen, Cian Hughton, Danny Hutchins, David Hutton, Jacques Maghoma and Takura Mtandari.
