Pavlyuchenko: Not for sale

Redknapp on Pavlyuchenko
Quotes of the week
Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp insists he does not want to sell out-of-favour striker Roman Pavlyuchenko come the January transfer window.
The Russia international has been strongly tipped to leave White Hart Lane due to lack of first-team action when the window reopens.
The former Spartak Moscow ace has failed to hold down regular football in North London and has been linked with Roma of late.
"We've got a strong squad - and we've got Luka Modric to come back. There's more than enough strength in depth," explained Redknapp.
"I don't want to sell Roman Pavlyuchenko. Technically he's a fantastic talent but he keeps saying he wants to go.
"He's got great ability but he wants to play regularly but it's been difficult with (Jermain) Defoe, (Peter) Crouch and (Robbie) Keane all doing well. It's unlucky for him."
Sunday's 9-1 demolition job of Wigan sees Spurs fourth in the Premier League ladder and Redknapp would be disappointed if they missed out on European football next season.
"Anything other than a European place would be a big disappointment," he continued.
"We only missed out by one point last season - but it's not impossible to finish in the top four.
"There are one or two other teams - Sunderland are going well, and Everton - but any one of Manchester City, Aston Villa and ourselves I think have got a chance of breaking into the top four. Why can't it be done?"
Meanwhile, Tottenham's proposed new stadium has become the first London ground to sign up to be a venue to host games if England win vote for the 2018 World Cup.
Wembley, Arsenal's Emirates Stadium and the London 2012 Olympic Stadium are also expected to join Spurs' new ground before the deadline of Wednesday evening.
Spurs have submitted plans to build a new 56,000-seater stadium and hope to be in their new home for 2012.
London United, the body that has been organising which of the capital's stadiums should be part of the World Cup bid, are confident the other stadiums will also sign up before the deadline.
Arsenal and the Olympic Stadium have had some issues over Fifa's demands for all host stadia but it is understood they are close to being resolved.
London United are due to make their formal submission on venues to England 2018 chiefs on Thursday morning.
