Brazilian striker Welliton has revealed he would be interested in a move to Tottenham.

Reports in Russia have claimed Spartak Moscow are keen on bringing unsettled Spurs forward Roman Pavlyuchenko back to the club and could use Welliton as part of the deal.

Pavlyuchenko is understood to be considering his future at White Hart Lane as he is unhappy with his lack of first-team action under Harry Redknapp.

Welliton has attracted the interest of a number of clubs after scoring 21 goals this season and he is open to the idea of an exchange with Pavlyuchenko.

"Tottenham are a famous club with a good infrastructure," Welliton is quoted as saying in the Daily Mail.

However, Welliton admits he would also be happy to stay and play alongside Pavlyuchenko at Spartak if the Russian was to return to his homeland.

"Of course I'd be happy if we signed him," added Welliton. "I don't see any reason to be upset. I only have pleasant memories of playing together with him.

"We are both versatile forwards who would complement each other."

Played down

Meanwhile, Lokomotiv Moscow have played down reports that they are close to sealing a deal for Pavlyuchenko.

Lokomotiv president Nikolay Naumov has refused to rule out a move for Pavlyuchenko, but claims there have been no talks between the two clubs.

"Our interest in Pavlyuchenko is no more than a rumour," said Naumov.

"Of course, we are interested in such a player, but we have not yet entered negotiations for his transfer.

"I can say that he may arrive here because as you know in football, anything is possible. But, by the same token, "Loko" may sign Lionel Messi."
