Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has played down suggestions of a rift with David Bentley.

Redknapp and the midfielder reportedly had a bust-up while preparing for Saturday's clash against Wolves at the club's training ground in Chigwell.

Although admitting there had been a disagreement, Redknapp insisted the incident would have no bearing on whether Bentley would be selected at White Hart Lane.

He said: "Part of it happened, a very small part of it, but it was nothing really.

"David is here and has trained hard this week, he is available for the game."

Modric return

Another player Redknapp hopes to have available in his matchday squad is the fit-again Luka Modric.

The Croatia playmaker has been sidelined since August after fracturing a fibula in the 2-1 victory over Birmingham but stepped up his comeback with a 70-minute run-out in a midweek friendly against Grays Athletic.

Redknapp was watching from the touchline and is confident the 24-year-old will feature at White Hart Lane.

He added: "It's a bit early to start him but he'll be involved against Wolves."
