Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has rubbished speculation that he could be forced to sell some of his prized assets this summer.

Should, as expected, Spurs fail to overturn the four-goal deficit in the second leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final clash with Real Madrid on Wednesday then the club face a battle to be back in Europe's top club competition next year.

Spurs finished in the top four last season, but reports suggest if they fail to repeat that feat then Redknapp could be forced to sell the likes of Gareth Bale, Luka Modric and Aaron Lennon.

But Redknapp has branded this as 'absolute rubbish' insisting nobody at the club will have to leave, and says that recent suggestions from chairman Daniel Levy that he would like to see the squad trimmed does not mean his top men will have to go.

"They've all got contracts, none of them are leaving"
Harry Redknapp Quotes of the week

"Not a chance. Absolutely rubbish," he said.

"They've all got contracts, none of them are leaving. When Daniel said that we

might have to trim the squad, he was talking about a lot of players on loan.

"That's what he is talking about."

Indeed Redknapp believes a few more investments will see Spurs emerge as genuine title contenders.

"We're not far off anybody really, we're right there. We're not far off Arsenal," he said.

"With one or two quality players in the summer we can be right there."
