Roberts happy at Rovers

Blackburn Rovers star Jason Roberts says he is happy to stay at Ewood Park.

Roberts' future has been the subject of speculation with the player believed to be keen on a move to London for personal reasons.

Blackburn turned down a bid from Fulham for the powerful forward earlier this month as they look to keep hold of the former Wigan man.

Roberts admitted he spoke to the club about his future and he says he is content to pledge his future to Blackburn.

"I spoke to the club about things when the bid came in from Fulham," Roberts told The Sun. "I have family in London and the Jason Roberts Foundation charity is based there.

"But there's no rush for me. I'm happy here.

"The manager knows that and I'll carry on working hard and doing my best for Rovers."

Roberts also dismissed talk that his strike partner Benni McCarthy could be leaving Ewood Park with a number of clubs believed to be keeping tabs on the South African.

"There are no problems for Benni. He has said he wants to play in the Champions League again. But don't we all want to play in that competition?

"Benni is a true professional and focused on doing as well as he can for Rovers.

"He has a lot of respect for the people here and he'll show that when he's out on the pitch. He'll carry on working hard."
