Blackburn Rovers eased into the Uefa Cup qualifying phase following a comfortable 4-0 victory in the second leg of their Intertoto Cup third round clash with Vetra.
Rovers were odds on to progress following their 2-0 win in Lithuania last week and the tie was never in doubt once Mark Hughes's side took the lead after just 25 minutes at Ewood Park.
The goal came from the highly-impressive Morten Gamst Pedersen as he headed home David Bentley's cross.
Vetra's uphill task was made all the more difficult when Dejan Miloseski was dismissed for two yellow cards.
After the break Blackburn were quickly into their stride and made it 2-0 when Pedersen this time turned provider as he crossed for Jason Roberts to convert from close-range.
Benni McCarthy then produced a sublime effort on 54 minutes when he met Bentley's cross with a brilliant overhead kick.
Just moments later and Pedersen's free-kick flew into the net without anyone getting a touch, to make it 4-0 for Rovers and seal their place in the Uefa Cup.
A debut goal from Diego Forlan was enough for Atletico Madrid to progress against Gloria Bistrita.
Atletico suffered a shock loss in Romania last week, but they were not to be denied with Forlan grabbing what proved to be the only goal of the game after just 10 minutes at the Vicente Calderon.
Ligue 1 side Lens eased Chernomorets 3-1 to secure their place in the next round. The first leg ended goalless in Ukraine and the visitors threatened a shock as Oleg Venglinski scored after 11 minutes.
Lens were soon level when Adama Coulibaly (19) pounced and Kanga Akale made sure of Lens' progression with a brace (40 & 73).
Sampdoria progressed after a 1-0 win over Cherno More at the Luigi Ferraris which gave them a 2-0 aggregate success. The only goal of the game arrived in the last-minute when Christian Maggio pounced.
Romanian outfit Otelul Galati secured a 2-1 win in Turkey to knock Trabzonspor out of the Intertoto Cup.
Galati had won the first leg 2-1, but they were pegged back early on in Trabzon when Ceyhun Eris (8) levelled the aggregate scores.
However, Janos Szekely (13) levelled the match to put Galati back ahead and the win was sealed in the final minute when Emil Jula converted from the penalty spot.
