Blackburn Rovers manager Paul Ince has revealed that the capture of a natural right-back is his main transfer priority.

Ince was unveiled as the new boss at Ewood Park last month, and has expressed his intention to bolster his squad this summer.

On Friday, Rovers announced that former Cardiff City striker Robbie Fowler will train with the squad at their pre-season training camp in Germany.

However, Ince has explained that the signing of a right-back is at the forefront of his mind ahead of the new season.

Targets

"We are looking at a few things right now but we don't want to rush into anything - there's still another six weeks to go before the season starts," Ince told Lancashire Telegraph.

"That said, we've got some targets and we want to get in there before anyone else does.

"I feel we need a few players to bolster the squad. A right-back is the main priority, even though Brett Emerton did well there last season.

"I just feel we probably need a specialist in that position. We are also looking at other positions too."
