Bentley: Could go for the right price
Blackburn Rovers chairman John Williams has suggested the club could be willing to sell David Bentley for the right price.
The midfielder has been chased by several Premier League clubs, with Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur having bids rejected.
Villa boss Martin O'Neill stated last week that he had 'moved on' from Bentley, but reports claim Spurs still want the England international.
Rovers have previously stood firm in their position that Bentley will not be leaving Ewood Park in order to join a club playing European football next season.
However, Williams' stance appears to have softened after he admitted that he would leave a decision in manager Paul Ince's hands, if an acceptable bid was received.
"Contrary to speculation in the media, we have not put a price on David's head because we don't work like that," Williams told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph.
"The situation is we have had two bids for David, both of which have been rejected.
"However, if we got a bid that was in line with current market values, then we will refer it to Paul Ince and it becomes a football decision after that.
"As I've said all along, we are under no financial pressure to sell, because David is only one year into a four-year contract."
