Nelsen: Has faith in Ince
Ryan Nelsen predicts exciting times ahead for Blackburn under the guidance of manager Paul Ince.
The former MK Dons coach only took the reins at Ewood Park over the summer, handing him his first taste of top-flight management.
Ince has had to deal with his fair share of critics since stepping into Mark Hughes' sizeable shoes at Rovers, especially when early results failed to live to up expectations.
However, back-to-back victories have lifted the club to seventh place in the table and all would appear to be well once more.
New Zealand international Nelsen certainly thinks so and has hailed the new boss for silencing the detractors.
"Two weeks ago everyone was thinking the worst but everyone in the club knew what the players have got, knew what the management have got, and knew we would get out of it," the Rovers captain told the Lancashire Telegraph.
"We are showing what Paul Ince is about. He has put his fingerprint on Blackburn now.
"This is his team and we are showing what we can do.
"We have 20-odd guys who will believe they should be playing.
"It is really exciting. We just have to keep winning now. It is really exciting and good for the club."
Rovers' latest success came against Newcastle on Saturday, with the troubled Magpies slipping to a 2-1 defeat.
Nelsen believes Ince's men thoroughly deserved to take all three points, especially as they also had to contend with a prickly atmosphere at St James' Park.
"It was definitely a deserved three points," he added.
"In the first half we were fantastic and should have been up more than 2-0 and the game would have been completely to bed.
"But after they got the goal back the players got their tails up and the crowd got their tails up and it was a great result."
