Jason Brown has no plans to relinquish the Blackburn Rovers No.1 jersey anytime soon.

A calf injury to England international Paul Robinson has given Brown a chance between the sticks under manager Paul Ince.

Brown kept a clean sheet in Rovers' Carling Cup win over Everton and followed up by helping Blackburn win at Newcastle.

Robinson remains doubtful to play against Manchester United this weekend and Brown is relishing the chance to keep Dimitar Berbatov and co quiet.

Looking forward

"You have to look forward to it because I don't know how long it will last for," he told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph.

"I can't take anything for granted and of course I would love to be playing against Manchester United.

"We will feel confident as well. We did not play particularly great on Saturday but if we can up it 10 to 15 per cent, we will have a chance.

"It was fantastic for me as a player to play at a club like Newcastle, in front of 50,000 fans, it was unbelievable.

"It is a shame for Robbo but I have to think of my career and hopefully I can stay in the team."
