Blackburn Rovers boss Paul Ince admits he will have to make a decision on Carlos Villanueva's future 'sooner rather than later'.

Chilean playmaker Villanueva is on a season-long loan from Audax Italiano and has made seven appearances for Rovers to date.

He has established himself as a crowd favourite and Rovers have the option to sign the 22-year-old on a permanent basis for £5million.

However, the deal must be finalised before the end of 2008 and Ince appears to be keen to push through a long-term arrangement.

Special talent

"When Carlos has played he gives us something different," said Ince in the Lancashire Evening Telegraph. "He is a special talent.

"The only thing I have said before when you come to a new country and don't speak the language, and are stuck in a hotel room, it does take time to settle down.

"We haven't got that time. We are going to have to make a decision sooner rather than later, but he is definitely one who would benefit what we are trying to do at Blackburn Rovers.

"He loves it here, he is even getting used to the weather.

"He wants to get better and wants to improve and is at the right place for that."
