Morten Gamst Pedersen has vowed to fight for his Blackburn place.

The 27-year-old Norwegian winger has started just eight games this season.

He is now looking to battle his way back into the first-team under Paul Ince.

"If you ask any player whether they want to play, the answer will always be the same and I'm no different," he told the Daily Express.

"I am here to play. I've spoken to the manager; he knows I want to play all the time.

"It's hard when you are left out, but you can either sulk or work hard and get back."

After gaining a reputation with some spectacular goals during Mark Hughes's stewardship at the club Pedersen became a firm crowd favourite and was linked to Spurs and Manchester United.

And Ince would very much like to see the Norwegian return to his best as he said: "I remember watching Morten two years ago and he was outstanding.

"But somewhere down the line he has lost his way a bit, maybe it's a confidence thing.

"He played well against Chelsea last week and he just has to continue on that same path now."
