Blyth Spartans manager Harry Dunn wants to become a 'Lottery winner' by causing one of the biggest ever FA Cup shocks and knocking out Blackburn Rovers.

The Blue Square North strugglers take on Premier League Blackburn at their modest Croft Park home next Monday night with Dunn dreaming that his numbers come up.

Dunn said: "Realistically, what are the chances of any of us winning the pools or the Lottery?

"(But) You've always got a chance. You are just hoping on the night Blackburn play below themselves and we play above ourselves.

"We might get a good decision off the referee. You never know what is going to happen.

"Everything is on the night and it's the FA Cup and that's the beauty of the competition.

"We just hope on Monday night that we give a good account of ourselves. You never know, we might just sneak a draw or pinch a win."

Biggest

The third-round tie will give Blyth their biggest night since the Northumberland club lost a fifth-round replay to Wrexham at nearby St James' Park in 1978.

And the occasion will be extra-special for player/assistant-manager Graham Fenton, who played for Blackburn in a top-flight career which also took in spells with Aston Villa and Leicester City.

Fenton, 34, said: "Croft Park will be a leveller and they certainly won't enjoy coming here. It's a world away from a Premier League ground.

"To be honest you can't even contemplate a bunch of lads from Blue Square

North beating Blackburn, but we will do our best, enjoy the day and set up to get them on the break."
