Reid: Rovers return unlikely
Steven Reid is preparing to look for another Premier League club after admitting he is set to leave Blackburn Rovers in the summer.
The Republic of Ireland international made an Ewood Park exit in March and spent the final 10 games of the season at West Brom and aided the Baggies' promotion back to England's top tier.
Reid had hoped to earn a new deal at Rovers with his current contract expiring next month, but the midfielder, who operated at right-back during his spell at The Hawthorns, accepts he will need to look elsewhere for top-flight football.
"It is looking as though my time at Blackburn has come to an end, although they haven't made it official yet," Reid, who has been linked with a permanent move to West Brom, told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph.
"I don't think I will be getting anything from Blackburn Rovers in the summer. I know I can still play Premier League football though.
"I am disappointed I haven't played the amount of games I hoped to at Blackburn this season but that is football.
"I definitely feel I can still offer a Premier League club something because I still feel I am good enough at that level."
Reid, who has been on Blackburn's books since 2003, paid tribute to Sam Allardyce for guiding Rovers to a top-half finish.
"The manager (Sam Allardyce) has his own views and you can't argue with what he has done," the 29-year-old added.
"He has done brilliantly to get the club to 10th and I am delighted for all of them."
