Burnley have boosted their striking options by bringing in Aston Villa youngster Nathan Delfouneso on loan for the rest of the season.
Delfouneso arrives at Turf Moor to improve Eddie Howe's squad after January signing Charlie Austin was ruled out for the campaign with a dislocated shoulder.
England Under 21 international Delfouneso has scored three goals in 16 appearances for Villa this season and has been allowed out to gain further first-team experience by Gerard Houllier.
With record signing Darren Bent leading the Villa line, and with only Premier League survival to play for this season, Delfouneso's opportunities in the coming weeks were likely to be limited.
Providing the paperwork is finalised in time, the 20-year-old is in line to make his Burnley debut against Hull City on Tuesday evening.
are you all mad?! of course this was a good move, same with bannan and guzan. they are not getting first team football at villa as they are not good enough yet. so why not put them out on loan? give them some experience. you all need to give houllier a break. he has proven tht he can so better once he puts his own stamp on the team, since the january window we have improved a lot. atleast give him next season or atleast half of it and im sure he will do fine.

two words for Houllier YOU IDIOT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

delfouneso is a good player and he should play for villa more, but on the other hand it is better for him, and for us in the long term, if he can play every week for a lower team than playing 5minutes as a sub occasionally for us

What the hell?! Is Houllier wanting to loan out every player? Bannan, Guzan and now The Fonz.... Houllier is RAPIDLY losing my respect...

Another foolish decison by Gerard Houllier. Another one of the brighter futures of the game being aloud to go out on loan rather that continue to perfom at the highest level. First Bannan not Delfouneso who next Albrighton?

Hopefully they will keep him, no good in premier league

Well done Houllier!! We have perhaps the fewest striker options in the prem and what does he do? Loan out one of our better players. Why couldn't he have loaned Heskey? He needs to get use to playing lower league football! We need our brighter stars to be at Villa, especially NOW! I don't understand it at all!! Whos next? Albrighton?

Another fantastic move, FOR ANOTHER TEAM! This is the man that should be partnering Bent up front and not Ego Young! Have you looked at the table Mr Houliier??????????
