Aston Villa chief executive Paul Faulkner insists that manager Gerard Houllier has the full backing of everyone at the club.

Despite only taking charge earlier in the season, Houllier is already coming under pressure from his own fans.

The club are just two points above the drop zone, but Faulkner insists that they are fully committed to Houllier.

Asked if they were backing their manager, he told Villa's official website: "Yes, total support.

"We are focused on these last seven games, getting the points we need right now to get out of the situation we are in."
