Tottenham Hotspur are not looking to offload winger Aaron Lennon during the transfer window.

Reports have linked Newcastle United with a £10million bid for Lennon, who featured in 47 of the club's 57 matches last season.

There have also been claims that Lennon could be used as a makeweight in a deal to sign Blackburn Rovers midfielder David Bentley.

However, it is understood that the 21-year-old remains firmly in Juande Ramos' plans for the coming campaign.

Ramos is not looking to use the speedy wide-man as bait to land any of his targets, and nor is he aiming to sell Lennon to boost his transfer kitty.

Lennon is under contract at White Hart Lane until 2012 and has made almost 120 appearances for the club since joining from Leeds United in 2005.

He will be part of the Spurs squad which heads out to Spain for a pre-season training camp later this month.
