Martins in action against Stoke
Newcastle are confident there will be no repeat of Obafemi Martins' substitution strop at Middlesbrough.
The Nigeria international reacted badly to being withdrawn during the 0-0 draw at the Riverside Stadium on 29th November and was forced to later issue an apology for his actions.
Martins was again taken off before the end of Saturday's 2-2 draw at Stoke, but this time he embraced replacement Mark Viduka before taking his seat on the bench.
Assistant manager Chris Hughton believes Martins has learned from the mistake he made on Teesside and will now always respect the decisions of boss Joe Kinnear.
Hughton told the Evening Chronicle: "It's all about emotions, and what Oba showed last week at Middlesbrough was that he was upset at being taken off, and sometimes you don't mind that.
"But what he showed against Stoke was respect for the fact that there are reasons you make changes - and that's what we would expect from him."
