Davies: Looking to add
Guthrie: On Davies' wish list
Billy Davies admits to being interested in Danny Guthrie, but insists he has made no approach for the Newcastle midfielder.
The Nottingham Forest boss is continuing with his efforts to bring fresh faces to the City Ground, as the Reds prepare to launch a promotion push.
Having seen his young squad run out of legs in the Championship play-offs last term, Davies is determined to avoid suffering a similar fate this season.
With that in mind, he has drawn up a list of possible loan recruits.
Among those in his thoughts is Guthrie, who is currently out of favour under Alan Pardew at St James' Park.
Davies is, however, unsure as to the 23-year-old's availability and is in no position to discuss a possible deal.
He told the Nottingham Evening Post: "I have made no attempt to sign Guthrie. He is a player who was on our list, when we were looking at possibilities. And he is a player who had been out of the picture at his club.
"But is he available? I don't know. Would he come here? I don't know."
While keen to keep his cards close to his chest for now, Davies admits he is still hoping to bolster his ranks before the loan window shuts.
He added: "My targets are not exhausted. But we have a great dynamic in the dressing room and I am concerned about that.
"I would love to tell you the players I have tried to get; to give you the full details. But I cannot do that, it would not be fair.
"What I can tell you is that I have made several attempts to bring loan players into this club."
