Leicester City have swooped to sign Manchester City defender Patrick McCarthy.

The 21-year-old has agreed a three-year deal at The Walkers Stadium.

Leicester boss Craig Levein has been looking to bolster his defensive options as his only fit central defenders are Matt Heath and Nikos Dabizas.

McCarthy, who has never made a Premiership appearance for City, has first team experience following loan spells at Boston and Notts County earlier in his career.

Meanwhile, Leicester have announced a lucrative sponsorship deal with sports retailer JJB.
