New Manchester City signing Geovanni believes he has all the experience he needs to make an instant impact in the Premier League.
The 27-year-old Brazilian, who joined on a free transfer from Cruzeiro on Tuesday, has experience of playing at the highest level in Spain and Portugal as well as earning four caps for his country.
And he feels that will stand him in good stead as he fulfils his dream of playing in England.
"I think I've got some good experience having played at Barcelona and Benfica, and having played for a few years in Europe I think I'm ready to play in the Premier League," he told the club's official website.
"It's been a dream for me to play in England, and this is a dream as well to come to a club like Manchester City.
"It's great to be here after playing in Europe for a few years already, and I can't wait to get started.
"Playing in England has been an ambition of mine. I watched a lot of Premier League games when I was at Benfica and now that I'm here I just want to start playing."
Meanwhile, fellow City new boy Gelson Fernandes says he is 'hungry and motivated' after he completed his switch from FC Sion at the weekend.
"I am struggling to believe it," the Switzerland Under 21 captain told Le Matin. "Everything has happened so quickly.
"I left for Manchester on Friday morning and, after the medical, I waited for the two clubs to reach an agreement.
"I have always worked for a moment like this. I have signed for a famous club. We all know the level of football in the Premier League.
"I want to impose myself and then get into the senior national team. I am hungry and motivated."
