Eriksson happy with point

Manchester City manager Sven Goran Eriksson felt his side's goalless draw at Bolton was a fair result.

City were not always at their free-flowing best at The Reebok, but showed great spirit and fight in grinding out a result.

Eriksson was content with his side's defensive display, although he would have been slightly happier if they had played a little more football.

"Bolton are fighting for their lives. They play this kind of football and you have to cope with it," he told Sky Sports.

"Defensively we did okay, but we played too many long balls ourselves. We need to play more.

"It was a battle. It was a battle in the air. I think nil-nil is a fair result. It could have been 1-1."

Fight

Many feel Eriksson's side are just going through the motions to end the season, although he has no plans for his side to take it easy just yet.

"We've shown we've not given up," he continued. "We're going to try and win as many points as possible until the end of the season.

"This point might be important at the end of the season, who knows? We need to play the ball more, but Bolton did not allow us to do it.

"We defended very well. Defensively we were very good and you need to be to keep a clean sheet against Bolton."
