Bolton picked up their first away win of the campaign with an impressive showing at West Ham.

Bolton were gifted the opener on the half hour mark when Robert Green fumbled a high ball into the box to the feet of Kevin Davies who gleefully poked the ball into the empty net.

Things got worse for the home side four minutes later when Gary Cahill netted his first goal for Bolton when he reacted quickest to score from close range after Green had parried Gretar Steinsson's fierce shot.

West Ham pulled a goal back on 69 minutes when Carlton Cole nodded the ball home off the underside of the crossbar from six yards after Matthew Upson had headed the ball across goal.

Bolton put the game beyond West Ham four minutes from time when substitute Matt Taylor thumped a superb free-kick from fully 30 yards past a despairing Green.
