Digard: Unhappy
Paris Saint Germain have responded to Didier Digard's claims that the French club are holding up his move to Middlesbrough.
Digard is keen to join Middlesbrough and is expected to seal a £4million move to the Riverside during pre-season.
However, the deal has yet to go through, with Digard admitting he is 'irritated' by the situation and suggested the PSG board are 'incompetent'.
PSG, though, insist the delay in finalising the transfer is due to the failure of Boro to provide bank guarantees regarding the payment of the fee.
A statement on PSG's official website read: "Twelve days after an agreement in principle between PSG and Middlesbrough for the transfer of Didier Digard, the club's directors are still waiting for bank guarantees from the English club.
"After two hours of discussion, an agreement was come to. A rate of instalments for the payment of the transfer was also decided upon.
"Part of the details of the agreement on the part of the English club was to provide PSG with bank guarantees. Up until now, these guarantees have not been presented.
"Nevertheless, negotiations continue in a climate of reciprocal confidence.
"In conclusion, the declarations by the PSG player Didier Digard are false, especially as the player has wished to leave PSG since December 2007."
