Middlesbrough have confirmed that striker Jeremie Aladiere is set to be sidelined for six weeks.

The French forward broke a toe during the weekend's defeat at Cardiff City.

Now Aliadiere will be missing until the end of April and could indeed miss the rest of the season.

Should the 26-year-old fail to return this season, he could very well have played his final game for the club - with his current deal due to expire in the summer, and Boro showing few signs of offering him fresh terms.

Boro are still waiting on Willo Flood, who was forced off with a knee injury in South Wales.

The Irish midfielder, who has been an ever-present in Gordon Strachan's side since moving from Celtic, has taken a bang to his knee which could see him sidelined.

Boro will continue to asses Flood in the coming days before they can confirm the true extent of the problem.

The club are hoping to have Australian ace Scott McDonald back in training this week.

The former Celtic man has been struggling with the hernia problem he had operated on earlier in the campaign whilst still at Parkhead.
