Stoke boss Tony Pulis has dismissed reports linking him with moves for Gary O'Neil and Hugo Rodallega.

The Potters remain very much in the market for new recruits, having added just two fresh faces to their squad this summer - Florent Cuvellier and Carlo Nash.

Pulis is aware that he needs to strengthen if Stoke are to continue progressing and cement themselves as a Premier League side.

He has, however, been quick to play down speculation suggesting he is poised to pounce for Middlesbrough midfielder O'Neil.

"It's agents and other people talking about Gary," he said.

"There's been no contact between the clubs."

Working hard

Pulis has also distanced himself from Wigan striker Rodallega, who was believed to have been a target for the Potters during the January transfer window.

"Again, I've not been in touch with anybody at Wigan," he added.

"But it's lovely people are thinking about the targets we are not really looking at.

"We have been working diligently to get deals done, but it's not gone for us yet."
