Middlesbrough manager Gordon Strachan has expressed his delight after clinching a deal to sign Estonia international Tarmo Kink.

The 24-year-old has joined Boro on a three-year contract from Hungarian side Gyori ETO and has cost a fee of €1million (£835,000).

Kink, who can play on the left of midfield or in attack, has been a long-term target for Strachan and becomes Boro's sixth signing of the summer.

Strachan is looking forward to having Kink in his squad next season and expects his new recruit to join in training from next week.

"We're delighted to sign him," Strachan told the club's official website. "The lad is a good player.

"We've watched him on quite a few occasions and always liked what we saw.

"He's a good ball player and he's got a good left foot.

"He's had a virus which has knocked him back a bit, but he starts training with us next week and he should be fully recovered by then."
