Davies: Coy about return

Billy Davies is refusing to be drawn on his future, after insisting he will not consider any job opportunities until after Christmas.

The Scottish tactician has been linked with a number of managerial vacancies, with the Scotland and Fulham posts thought to be on his radar.

Davies, sacked by Derby earlier this season, is keen to spend the festive period with his family before making any decisions on his future.

Family guy

"I am thoroughly enjoying my time with the family, giving my kids the conversations I should have had over the last four or fives years and spending time with them," he told Sky Sports.

"I am focused on nothing else expect enjoying Christmas, getting to the New Year and then we will see."

Davies feels the Scotland job needs to come with a guarantee of longevity, with both Walter Smith and Alex McLeish having enjoyed successful but short-lived stints.

"What I said was I felt golden handcuffs have to be put on the next Scotland manager.

"They've got to make it a long-term fixture in my opinion."
