Fulham fans will be delighted at the return of Jimmy Bullard who has made an immediate impact on his return from injury.

An assist and a winning goal saw The Cottagers come from behind against an in-form Aston Villa side to secure a valuable three-point haul that puts them back in touch with the pack of relegation scrappers above.

The former Wigan dynamo appears to be something of a talisman, having scored in each of his three home starts in his Fulham career.

How's about that then?

As it happens, Fulham have won three drawn two and lost only one of the six games he has started for them - the kind of form that would see them top of the pops in the battle for the drop if it continued.

Now then, now then, now then, all three of his goals have come from dead balls - the first a penalty and the latter two strikes from free kicks.

Those goals have come from just eight appearances and he is only one short of his tally for Wigan of four goals which came from 36 games.

He also mustered just four assists for Wigan, while he already has two for the Whites. Roy Hodgson will be hoping that Bullard's inspirational form can make his side click rather than clunk as it has in his absence and that Fulham can avoid the drop.
