Greening: Open to move
Fulham boss Roy Hodgson claims transfer target Jonathan Greening is keen to join the club.
The Cottagers have seen an offer for the midfielder, believed to be in the region of £2million, turned down by West Brom, with the Baggies branding the bid as 'derisory'.
Hodgson, though, is refusing to accept defeat in his pursuit of the former Manchester United and Middlesbrough man and insists the player has expressed an interest in moving to Craven Cottage.
"We made an offer for Jonathan Greening and our information, through his agent, is that he would be very keen to come and join us, but at the moment there is a stage of impasse," he said.
Greening has handed in a written transfer request at the Hawthorns, but it remains to be seen whether that will be accepted.
Hodgson will be hoping it is, but for now he has slammed the Baggies for the manner in which they dismissed the Cottagers' initial approach out of hand.
"I think it's sad when people make those sort of comments because I can assure you the offer was by no means derisory," he added.
"It may not have been the kind of offer they were looking for, but that's another matter.
"To use the word derisory is very strong and as far as I am concerned, I know what the offer was, for a player that is 31 years of age and is in the Championship looking to get back into the Premiership, it was anything but a derisory offer.
"I am hoping that there may still be some dialogue between the two clubs because I know that Jonathan is very keen to join us and he would be a good addition to our squad, with his experience and quality, going into the season we are going into."
