Bougherra: Attracting interest

Skysports.com understands that Charlton have turned down a bid from Real Betis for Madjid Bougherra.

The 25-year-old has been at The Valley for 18 months and has impressed hugely since moving from Sheffield Wednesday.

The Algerian international defender is now attracting interest from a host of clubs, but Betis are first to show their intent.

It is believed Betis lodged a bid of 2million euros (£1.5million) with Charlton last week, but the Addicks have already rejected that.

Now Betis are ready to come back for a renewed offer, although they could soon be further interest from elsewhere.

Wigan

Skysports.com also understands that Wigan are taking a keen interest and could very well join the bidding.

Bougherra has three years left on his current contract at The Valley and is more than happy with life in South London.

The talented centre-back is now set for talks with Charlton, who could very well look to hand him an improved contract in a bid to keep him.
