McCormack: Wants Boyd arrival
Cardiff City new boy Ross McCormack hopes Rangers striker Kris Boyd will join him at Ninian Park.
McCormack has signed a three-year contract with Cardiff and joins the Championship club on a free transfer from Motherwell.
He is now keen for Boyd to follow him to South Wales, with Cardiff considering an improved offer for the Rangers hit-man.
Though Boyd is happy to stay at Ibrox, McCormack believes the Scotland international would be a big hit with the Bluebirds.
"It would be a dream if big Boydie joined me at Cardiff," McCormack told the Sunday Mail.
"We already have Robbie Fowler and Stevie Thompson, but it would be great to play with Kris.
"He's an excellent player and could move to the Premiership if he decides to leave Rangers. But I know Cardiff are interested and it would be brilliant if he came here."
McCormack also revealed he turned down an offer from Nottingham Forest, and resisted interest from Wigan Athletic, to join Cardiff.
He added: "I'm excited to be joining a big club who are going places. I couldn't turn the move down.
"I was really impressed with everything Colin (Calderwood) said at Forest. The Wigan deal was also still on the table, so I could have gone to the Premiership.
"But I just felt I'd have more chance of playing regularly at Cardiff. After speaking with the manager and chairman my mind was made up."
