Kapo: Substitute's outing
Daniel de Ridder and Olivier Kapo pulled on a Wigan Athletic shirt for the first time in the 2-0 defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt.
The recent arrivals from Birmingham City were given their debuts in Austria, but were unable to prevent the Latics from slipping to defeat.
Bundesliga club Frankfurt took the lead on 18 minutes when Ioannis Amanatidis dispatched a cross from the left beyond Chris Kirkland.
Wigan rallied as Emile Heskey, Antoine Sibierski and Paul Scharner all had chances before Frankfurt scored a second three minutes before half-time.
Markus Steinhofer struck his shot beyond Latics keeper Kirkland and Titus Bramble was unable to clear the ball from off the line.
In the second period, Ryan Taylor came close with a free-kick for Wigan before Kapo replaced De Ridder on the hour mark.
French midfielder Kapo was quickly into the action as he headed one chance over as the Latics were unable to find a consolation.
