Edman: Injury nightmare
Erik Edman can see light at the end of the tunnel after enduring a torrid time with injuries.
The Wigan full-back damaged cruciate ligaments in his knee back in March and has been unable to feature for the Latics since.
However, his rehabilitation is almost complete and he is eyeing a return to the first-team fold at the JJB Stadium.
The Sweden international came through 90 minutes of a reserve contest in midweek unscathed and will be stepping up his training over the coming weeks.
He accepts that he will face a battle to oust Maynor Figueroa from the left-back position, but is relishing the prospect of being back in contention.
"I feel good," he told Fotbollskanalen.
"I don't feel the injury anymore and it is feeling better every week.
"Those players that are playing now are doing very well and the team is not conceding many goals. They must continue to work hard."
