Mifsud talks ongoing

Talks over Michael Mifsud's future are ongoing, his representative has confirmed - but he has denied quotes attributed to his charge made in the English media.

Mifsud was quoted on Sunday claiming that he was ready to accept an offer from Sheffield United.

However, his agent Mark Taylor has played down the reports that a deal has already been struck with the Premiership club.

"The News of the World report was inaccurate," Taylor told skysports.com.

"Michael has not made any sort of comment that has been attributed to him, and as we said there are a number of inaccuracies in the report.

"There are a number of clubs looking at him, from England but also from across Europe."

While Sheffield United are understood to be interested, the likes of Coventry, Bolton, Reading, Watford, Norwich and Crystal Palace have all been credited with an interest in the Malta international who can move for free when the transfer window re-opens in January.

Mifsud has just finished the Norwegian season with Lillestrom but his contract with them has expired.
