Experienced winger Glen Little is hoping to make the most of his fortnight on trial at Sheffield United.

Little has been invited to train with the Blades during pre-season after being released by Premier League side Portsmouth.

He will join the Blades on their trip to Malta and was invited up to Bramall Lane by the club's assistant manager Sam Ellis.

The 33-year-old is keen to fix himself up with a new club and is looking to impress during his time with the Championship side.

Great chance

"I'm coming up for the first couple of weeks of pre-season and that includes the trip to Malta," said Little.

"I got a phone call from Sam (Ellis), who I have known for a long time, and he said come up and let's see how you get on.

"I want to get my career going again and Sam has told me that it's a good club. I've had plenty of battles with Sheffield United over the years, it's always a good atmosphere at the ground.

"This is a great chance to do a bit of training and get fit. I know a few of the lads, I've played against most and I'm sure I'll be able to settle in quite easily.

"We've got the trip away coming up, we'll get some training under our belts and see where we go from there."
