Skysports.com understands Sheffield United are set to beat Hearts to the signing of Falkirk winger Ryan Flynn.

The 22-year-old has been an impressive performer for Falkirk for the past two seasons after originally returning to the club on loan from Liverpool.

He has been a long-term target for Hearts, while SPL rivals Hibernian and Championship duo Doncaster Rovers and Watford have also held an interest.

However, the Blades look poised to win the chase for the wide-man and are in talks to bring Flynn to Bramall Lane for next season.

Blades boss Danny Wilson is keen to build a squad capable of securing immediate promotion from League One and Flynn would provide some creativity on the flanks if the deal goes through.
