Charlton boss Alan Pardew has confirmed they have agreed a deal to sign Portsmouth defender Linvoy Primus.

Primus' agent confirmed earlier this weekend Charlton were interested in taking the former Addicks star back to the Valley on loan.

Portsmouth are willing to loan out Primus so that he can work on his fitness after a lengthy spell on the sidelines because of injury.

Pardew believes the experienced defender will be a valuable addition to his squad on a season-long loan.

He said: "We've agreed with Portsmouth that Linvoy Primus will come here. He'll spend the first part of the week training with Portsmouth as he's still carrying a knock but he'll be with us on Wednesday and I think he'll be a big signing.

"He's an old Charlton player, he's loved by the fans here and his experience and character will add to what we've got."

Pardew also admitted there could be one more new signing at The Valley before the close of the transfer window.

"There might be one more signing but at least Linvoy has agreed and it's done," concluded Pardew.
