Charlton have allowed young midfielder Serge Deble to join Ligue 2 outfit Nantes on a season-long loan.

The 20-year-old has spent the last two seasons in France with Angers Sporting Club de l'Quest and is now set to take in a third campaign.

The promising Ivorian does not yet have a UK work permit, a situation which continues to prevent him from making his Addicks debut.

Deble is a product of a deal Charlton struck with Ivory Coast club ASEC Mimosas in 2005, although that understanding has since expired.

The League One outfit are not prepared to give up on the youngster, though, and continue to push for the relevant paperwork to be processed.

They are hopeful that their efforts will pay dividends and are happy to see Deble gaining valuable first-team experience away from England in the meantime.

The Addicks are keen to bring the African ace on board as he has displayed considerable potential during his short career to date.

He recently helped the Ivory Coast win the 2010 Toulon tournament and was awarded the Golden Shoe in France after being indentified as the best player in the competition.
