Nolberto Solano is looking for another club after being released by West Ham.

The former Newcastle and Aston Villa winger joined the Hammers in August 2007, but after only one season at the club he has been deemed surplus to requirements.

There had been rumours that the Peruvian ace would head north for a third spell with Newcastle, but Solano insists that is not a feasible option.

He left the North East for family reasons last summer and, despite admitting that he hopes to remain in England, insists that the situation has not changed.

Difficult

"I am looking for another club," he said.

"I hope to stay in England for another two years and after that, I will return to Peru.

"Everybody knows what I feel about Newcastle and those fans, but it would be difficult to ever return there.

"The reason I was forced to leave Newcastle was because of family reasons, and that situation has not changed.

"But one day, I might be back at Newcastle as manager."

Impressed

Solano became a Geordie hero during his time on Tyneside and admits that the club holds a special place in his heart.

"I don't really know Kevin Keegan, but when I saw him in action at Upton Park at the end of the season, I was very impressed with him," added the playmaker.

"If there is one man who can turn things around at St James' Park, then that man is Kevin Keegan.

"No matter where I am in the world, I will be hoping and praying that he does."

Solano has spent the last decade plying his trade in the Premier League, with his trickery, vision and keen eye for goal marking him out as one of the finest imports to grace the English top flight.
