Bangura: Broken elbow
Watford midfielder Gareth Williams has suffered a further setback in his comeback from injury.
The 25-year-old damaged his knee ligament in his third Premier League appearance for the Hornets last season and due to complications in the rehabilitation process, he is now facing a lengthier spell on the sidelines.
"This type of injury means constant physio and it's quite a gruelling rehab process," he told the club's website.
"My own circumstances have been a little bit more complicated than a regular anterior cruciate ligament injury - just with scar tissue problems and the way my body has chosen to heal.
"I'm coming up to roughly five months now so that has put me back, the initial time period was six to seven months so it's prolonged my recovery but with every passing week I do feel better."
Meanwhile, Jordan Parkes will be out for the next couple of months after spraining his ankle and fracturing a metatarsal during training.
The 18-year-old underwent an operation on Monday to have a pin put through the bone to correct the problem.
Al Bangura has also broken his elbow bone during the cup defeat at Southend.
Watford's Head of Medical Andy Rolls told the club's website: "Al suffered the injury during the second half at Southend, the adrenalin was going during the game and he didn't feel much pain so he carried on.
"He's broken the bone that makes up the elbow - not the wrist. The plaster has to go from the wrist to above the elbow so he's a little more limited in what he can do.
"He will be in that for a few weeks but he can run and train but he just looks a bit bizarre at the moment."
