Skysports.com understands Watford are set to sign Carlisle United starlet Tom Aldred.
Watford have made their move for Aldred after he turned down a new deal at Brunton Park.
Aldred made his first-team bow for Carlisle last season and he impressed during his five outings.
The 19-year-old appears to have suitably impressed Hornets boss Malky Mackay who has moved quickly to lure him to Vicarage Road.
Carlisle will be due a compensation fee from Watford for Aldred as his contract had expired at Brunton Park.
