Cresswell: Eyeing top flight
Richard Cresswell has denied that his move to Hull City fell through due to a failed medical, and says it was his decision to opt for a switch to Stoke.
The former Leeds striker saw his move to Hull collapse, but he quickly secured a three-year-deal at The Britannia Stadium, a transfer that he says was purely for footballing reasons.
Cresswell's stay at Leeds was plagued with injuries, which led to question marks over his fitness in his move to The KC Stadium, but he says it was his choice to cancel the transfer.
"It's a fantastic club with a lot of very good players," he told Stoke's official website.
"I believe this is a club that is going somewhere.
"A lot of things happened with Hull, but it was nothing to do with what has been said.
"My decision to come here was purely a footballing decision and I wanted to be part of the future here.
"There is a better chance of promotion here and that's what I want."
